Rebecca and Ziggy's wedding was an intimate affair nestled in the heart of Thurmont, Maryland. They both picked a venue that represented the atmosphere of their theme and decor perfectly. Located in the middle of a mountain forest, I cannot think of a better venue to not only represent the love that they share but also the middle earth tone that was captured. Rebecca decorated the venue with nods to Lord of the Rings and she pulled off the themed touches beautifully. I always love when couples place pieces of their personality into their decor, it makes their day that much more special. I especially loved that she had a Prancing Pony bar set up, it was such a creative touch that fans of the books will pick up on right away.
Fun fact: I used to watch The Fellowship of the Ring as a monthly tradition with one of my friends. It was an old favorite so I very much appreciated the details.

The ceremony felt like it was straight from a fairytale. The archway had stunning detail and guests were gathered on wooden benches to watch them declare their vows. Rebecca and Ziggy wrote their own vows for the ceremony and they were touching and so sincere. Not to mention, Rebecca chose to have the song "Into the West" by Annie Lennox play as she walked down the aisle. If you haven't listened to that song, it is beautiful and I felt my eyes starting to tear up as I listened.

I always like to list my favorite moments from the day and it's so easy to think back on them from this wedding. After the ceremony, we hopped on a golf cart to take some bridal portraits and Rebecca and Ziggy really wanted to go see the cows that Thorpewood has on their acreage. It was so much fun to capture photos of them saying hello right after being announced husband and wife.

As much as I find it hard to get into this rhythm of blogging, I am so happy that I've had the chance to photograph such gorgeous weddings. The beauty of Rebecca and Ziggy's day needs to be written about. So here I am, back on the blog to share with you these pretty pictures of a wonderful couple who we were so excited to watch tie the knot.
I also want to shout out the amazing vendor team that worked on this wedding, I've listed them below. I love meeting and working with new vendors at each wedding we photograph and this was our first time working with Julie at Thorpewood, Rachael or Great Scott Productions. They were an excellent group to work with and we strongly recommend them!

It's my goal to blog each and every wedding we photograph so stay tuned. And if you don't already follow us on Facebook and Instagram, I've placed the links below!
